This course introduces students to the German language, focusing on its relevance to English literature studies. Students will learn fundamental language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) while engaging with German literary texts and comparing them with English literature. The course aims to foster an understanding of linguistic structures, translation challenges, and cultural nuances in both languages. Students will also explore key literary themes, styles, and movements in German literature, enhancing their analytical skills and appreciation for cross-cultural literary influences.
