Course Literacy in ELT

Deskripsi Mata Kuliah

This course is designed to strengthen and broaden the students’ knowledge of the literary genres, enhance their ability to appreciate and enjoy reading literary works such as short stories, novelettes, novels, poems, songs, plays and to equip them with the knowledge and ability of the teaching strategies of the genres. In addition, the students are expected to be able to develop materials in teaching literature. As culture is broadly discussed in literary texts, this course provides students with the knowledge of culture in English contexts. Finishing this course, the students are also required to discuss character building through analyzing moral value of the literary texts. Lecture activities are carried out through group presentations, discussions, and workshops of application of literacy in English language teaching. This course uses Project-Based Learning.

  • Mahasiswa mampu mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai agama, kebangsaan, dan budaya nasional dalam desain pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang relevan dan kontekstual.
  • Mahasiswa mampu merancang pembelajaran bahasa Inggris berbasis teknologi dengan mematuhi etika akademik, seperti menghindari plagiarisme dan menerapkan prinsip keterbukaan akademik.
  • Mahasiswa mampu menghasilkan model pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang inovatif dengan memanfaatkan teknologi untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan dan hasil belajar peserta didik.
  • Mahasiswa mampu mendesain pembelajaran berbasis teknologi yang sesuai untuk kebutuhan bahasa Inggris umum (General English) maupun bahasa Inggris untuk tujuan tertentu (ESP).
  • Mahasiswa mampu mengevaluasi dan memvalidasi efektivitas desain atau model pembelajaran berbasis teknologi dalam konteks pengajaran bahasa Inggris.
