Course Description
This course is intended to provide students with the knowledge of education. The students will have a deep understanding about education in general and Indonesian educational systems. The students are informed about the duties of English teachers concerning their responsibilities not only in teaching English in Indonesia but also how the English teachers shape the students‘ character. This course also provides information about the values, norms, and policies concerning education in Indonesia
Program Objectives (PO)
- Explain the fundamental principles and purposes of education, including its historical development, philosophical foundations, and application in English Language Teaching (ELT) within the Indonesian context.
- Analyze and propose strategies for implementing educational principles in English language teaching practices

Pertemuan 1 Explain the fundamental purposes and principles of education as an introduction to the Principles of Education course. -
Pertemuan 2 Explain the concept of learner-centered education and recognize its relevance to classroom practices. -
Pertemuan 3 Apply active learning strategies using digital tools to promote student engagement in language learning. -
Pertemuan 4 Demonstrate the integration of inclusivity and equity in designing and implementing technology-supported ELT activities. -
Pertemuan 5 Utilize continuous assessment methods to evaluate students' language proficiency and learning progress through technology. -
Pertemuan 6 Apply contextual learning strategies to enhance students' real-life language application using educational technology. -
Pertemuan 7 Foster collaboration and social interaction among learners through digital platforms and interactive learning activities. -
Pertemuan 8 Evaluate the role of ethical and moral considerations in the responsible use of technology in ELT. -
Pertemuan 9 Analyze the developmental stages of learners and their implications for designing effective technology-based language instruction. -

Pertemuan 12 Apply Problem-Based Learning (PBL) strategies in integrating technology into ELT to enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills. -
Pertemuan 13 Analyze real-world case studies related to the use of educational technology in ELT and propose effective solutions. -
Pertemuan 14 Design and implement a Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach utilizing digital tools to support student-centered language learning. -
