Course Description
This course comprehensively provides an understanding of the objects of study in the sociology of population and health, both formal and material, theoretical perspectives and study methods. After that, students are given an understanding of population aspects, starting from fertility, mortality and migration. To further strengthen their knowledge, students are introduced to population data, including determining population parameters and grand designs for controlling population quantity. The latest issues regarding population education will also be studied in this course. Students are also introduced to and given an understanding of health behavior models; health systems, policies and health liberalization; issues regarding gender and health; reproduction health; race, ethnicity in health; and the relationship between doctors, nurses and patients. At the end of the lecture, students are trained to carry out simple research, prepare reports and give seminars.
Program Objectives (PO)
- Mahasiswa mampu memahami dan menganalisis secara logis, kritis, dan sistematis teori-teori dasar sosiologi kependudukan dan kesehatan, serta konsep transisi demografis dan social epidemiologis
- Mahasisiwa mampu mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis ketidaksetaraan kesehatan serta perilaku kesehatan dan kebijakan kesehatan, begitu pula sistem kesehatan nasional dalam persepktif pembangunan kesehatan
- Mahasiswa mampu menganalisis isu-isu migrasi, penuaan, disabilitas dan kesehatan reproduksi dalam kerangka pembangunan sosial berkelanjutan
- Mahasiswa mampu merancang dan melaksanakan penelitian sederhana di bidang kependudukan dan kesehatan secara sistematis serta menghasilkan rekomendasi berbasis pembangunan inklusisf
