Course Description
This A2-level course provides a structured approach to developing foundational English communication skills essential for academic and practical contexts. Through targeted listening exercises, students will learn to identify key information in conversations and structured speech. Speaking activities will focus on everyday interactions, expressing opinions, and participating in discussions with clarity and confidence. The course emphasizes the practical application of communication skills through project-based tasks, enabling students to engage in real-world scenarios. Delivered in a face-to-face format, the course offers a dynamic learning environment where students receive personalized feedback, engage in peer-to-peer collaboration, and benefit from immediate support. This comprehensive approach ensures that students build a solid foundation in English communication, directly relevant to both academic success and practical use.
Program Objectives (PO)
- Identifying key words in spoken English to understand the topic of conversation.
- produce and present short written/visual outputs (notes, summaries, simple visual aids) that support oral delivery.
- sustain spoken interaction (narrating, discussing, giving/justifying opinions) with increasing fluency and coherence toward B2 performance.
- Evaluating advantages and disadvantages in spoken discussions and presenting informed opinions.
- Recognizing explanations and examples in spoken presentations and delivering clear introductions.
- Following and explaining processes in spoken English, using clear signalling language.

Pertemuan 1 Students are able to apply simple present/continuous verb systems and action–nonaction verb distinctions to describe daily routines and food-related preferences. -
Pertemuan 2 Students are able to sustain spoken interaction about future plans and family-related topics, responding appropriately to conversational cues. -
Pertemuan 3 Students are able to apply present perfect vs. simple past tense rules and money-related vocabulary correctly in describing personal financial experiences. -
Pertemuan 4 Students are able to produce coherent written accounts of life changes and duration (for/since), reflecting accuracy and organization. -
Pertemuan 5 Students are able to deliver a structured oral presentation (tourist role-play, opinion-giving) using comparative/superlative structures and appropriate collocations. -
Pertemuan 6 Students are able to express and justify opinions orally in interactive discussion with correct linking and stress patterns. -
Pertemuan 7 Project 1 Preparation – Students are able to apply modal systems of obligation, prohibition, ability, and possibility accurately in spoken and written problem–advice exchanges. -

Pertemuan 9 Students are able to narrate personal anecdotes orally using correct past tense forms, with coherence and fluency. -
Pertemuan 10 Students are able to present personal narratives and opinions orally, and perform functional exchanges (permission/requests), in a clear, organized format. -
Pertemuan 11 Students are able to apply passive-voice structures across tenses accurately in descriptive spoken and written texts. -
Pertemuan 12 Students are able to construct spoken inferences using modals of deduction, demonstrating logical reasoning and coherence. -
Pertemuan 13 Students are able to prepare and deliver a short structured presentation (with supporting notes/visual aid) on an educational topic, applying first-conditional and future time-clause structures accurately. -
Pertemuan 14 Students are able to discuss hypothetical situations, pros/cons, and offer suggestions orally, demonstrating flexible language use. -
