Course Description
The Interkulturelle Kommunikation course is a course that focuses on understanding and applying the concept of intercultural communication in various cultural contexts. The Interkulturelle Kommunikation course aims to equip students with an understanding of intercultural communication, especially with regard to Germany. This course is designed for students of language level B1 or equivalent who are interested in understanding and improving their ability to communicate effectively with people from German culture. Students will study the concepts, benefits and goals of intercultural communication and explore various aspects of popular culture, traditions and celebrations in Germany. The material will also cover communication ethics and the importance of tolerance in German society, as well as the environment and sustainable practices in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in Germany. In this course, project-based learning and learning activities are implemented, such as questions and answers, discussions, presentations. Evaluation in this course includes: participatory assessment, assignment assessment and project assessment.
Program Objectives (PO)
- Menganalisis konsep dan teori dasar komunikasi antarbudaya dalam konteks komunikasi Indonesia–Jerman.
- Menerapkan teori komunikasi antarbudaya, termasuk dimensi budaya Hofstede, untuk menganalisis nilai budaya dan praktik sosial dalam masyarakat Jerman.
- Mengidentifikasi stereotip dan prasangka dalam konteks komunikasi Indonesia–Jerman serta mengembangkan sikap empatik dan toleran terhadap keberagaman.
- Menerapkan strategi komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal yang tepat dalam situasi interaksi akademik dan profesional Indonesia–Jerman.
- Berkolaborasi dalam tim multikultural untuk merancang proyek interkultural dengan menerapkan model Byram dan Bennett serta mengkaji isu etika komunikasi, seni, dan keberlanjutan lingkungan dalam konteks Jerman.
