This course discusses the meaning of addiction, its prevalence, historical perspective, biological-psychological-social aspects of addiction, models of addiction, application of guidance theories in addiction intervention, core processes of intervention for addiction. Observe aspects of race, ethnicity, culture and public policy in relation to addiction, and the process of developing and treating addiction. Lectures are carried out using case study, collaborative learning and project based learning methods. . Assessment of student success is based on participation scores in taking part in lecture activities, structured assignment scores, and exam scores.
