This course examines various contemporary art practices, identifying and critically analyzing themes and practices in contemporary art. Placing its relationship to the social, cultural and historical context of development. Through a comparative approach, explores complex regional and transnational interactions in the arts. Key topics will include: exploring the critical tensions of modernity and the contemporary, as well as issues of nationalism, globalization, post-colonial politics and cultural identity. Apart from that, it also develops the ability to apply new theories and embrace new developments in artistic production, developing critical reflective artistic practices that make a positive contribution to cultural development in both local and international contexts, with discussions and literature searches.
