Introduces several basic techniques/methods for forming three-dimensional (figural) materials with plastic or easily formed materials, such as clay, gypsum, wax, or plasticine. Mastery of the forming techniques studied are carving, engraving, handbuilding techniques (coiling, pinching, extruding, or slabing). Lectures are conducted on a practical studio basis, working individually with a focus on hand gestures, foot and head gestures.
