This course examines the chronology of the origins and aesthetic innovations of modern art from the rise of the avant-garde, early modernism, new order, and high modernism. The study of the origins and social functions, as well as the aesthetic innovations and philosophical dilemmas faced by modernism, allows students to analyze art critically according to its historical context. The lecture will examine works of art, the social context in which they are produced and displayed, and various theoretical models that can be used to interpret them, with discussion and literature search strategies.
