Refining Visual Language. This course develops students‘ capacity to create 3-dimensional art through various media and techniques of their choice. This program focuses on individual development and expression at advanced levels based on areas of expertise. Emphasis on developing dialogue and methodology that refines and explores authentic artistic territory. All approaches are welcome, focus on finding interesting problems/discourses and finding the most appropriate materials/metaphors to realize the concept of the work. Dialogue will center on developing the power of personal ideas in relation to wider society. In this course students are required to develop individual strategies, ideolects (distinctive images), ideas in studio-based practice through various critical and reconstructive strategies. The lecture pattern is that the learning experience simulates the working life of a professional practitioner/artist. Students will engage in critical reflection and discussion. Consolidate material and technical skills, reflexive and research abilities, to develop an autonomous artistic practice. Articulate the vision and philosophy of art as a profession.
