Bodies in Space. This course develops students‘ skills in creating 3-dimensional art using sculpting/plastering techniques, on materials with the characteristics of stone and building materials. The method of achieving the ability to create is through exploring external stimulants in the form of observing subject matter through realistic insight, fantasy and abstraction in sculpture techniques. This course will teach students practical and theoretical methods for working with the subject matter of the study of the human body and its spatial context, iconography, and style. Translating body issues in space using analytical, technical and interpretive processes. Contextualization in practice through historical and theoretical investigations of the human body in the visual arts and applying them to contemporary sculptural practice.
