This course introduces students to the resources needed to apply various artificial intelligence approaches to generate information on biological applications such as: gene function, protein structure and molecular evolution. Participants will be taught methods for mining and analyzing data to carry out sequence matching, similarity searches, phylogenetic analysis, gene searches and protein structure predictions.
