Phytohormones is a science that studies problems related to plant hormones that support optimal plant growth. Included in this study material are the types, structure, synthesis and transport of hormones, hormone functions and the interactions of various types of hormones (auxin, cytokinin, gibberellin, ABA and ethylene) in influencing the growth and development that occurs in the plant body. Also discussed are other growth regulatory compounds such as polyamines, jasmonic acid, salicylic acid and brasinolid in relation to the five hormones above on growth and development in plants, and also study the symptoms of deficiencies in certain hormones. The study of Phytohormones is accompanied by various process skills (minds on activity and hands on activity) which will be used to solve problems in the field of plant hormones and their applications. Learning is delivered through presentations, discussions and practicums.
