Course Description
This course discusses the implications of technological advances for the current and future state of the financial industry. The goal is to spark a thought process of technological disruption and innovation and to uphold the notion that recent structural changes across the financial industry provide a spectrum of valuable internal and external opportunities. Case studies that will be explored include digital currency (bitcoin), settlement (blockchain), hedging as risk management, trading and financial advisory in FinTech. The aim is to trigger thought processes of technological disruption and innovation and to enforce the notion that recent structural changes across the financial industry provide a valuable spectrum of internal and external opportunities. Case studies to be explored include digital currency (bitcoin), settlement (blockchain), hedging as risk management, trading and financial advisory in FinTech.
