Course Description
The Management Information Systems (MIS) course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the role of information systems in global business (1), including how IT enables the integration and management of cross-border operations. Students also examine the relationship between information systems, organizational structure, and business strategy (2), with an emphasis on leveraging IT to support the achievement of a firm‘s strategic objectives. In the Database and Information Management topic (3), students learn the fundamentals of designing, managing, and using databases as key information resources for business needs. The Telecommunications, Internet, and Wireless Technology topic (4) highlights how modern communications networks enable fast, reliable, and secure data exchange on a global scale. Next, Knowledge Management (5) explores how information and organizational knowledge can be managed as strategic assets. Finally, project management–based information systems development (6) prepares students to design, implement, and manage IT projects in a structured, effective, and efficient manner
