This course equips students with knowledge and understanding of translation techniques across various domains (e.g., legal, medical, literary). The students will be able to develop cultural sensitivity and intercultural communication skills. They will also explore ethical considerations in translation practice. The scope covers diverse text types (informative, expresive, and marketing documents) and addresses specialized areas (scientific, technical, creative). The course blends theory and practical application, engages students in hands-on translation tasks and encourages critical analysis of translation challenges. The assessment includes case studies and reflective report. The former analyze real-world translation scenarios and the latter engage the students in evaluating their learning experiences. Formative assessments will be individual work whereas summative assessments will be collaborative in nature.
