The AGH442 course is a continuation of the Basics of Horticulture course (AGH242) which aims to deepen the science of fruit plants (Pomology). This course will be easier to follow if students have taken the Plant Cultivation Techniques (AGH 241) and Plant Breeding (AGH331) courses. In this course, material is presented regarding: the growing environment for tropical fruits, the process of flowering and fruit formation, the growth and development of tropical fruit trees, the growth and development of fruit, harvest and post-harvest fruit, and agribusiness for several important types of fruit in Indonesia. Apart from lectures in class, students will carry out field practicums in experimental gardens with material on introducing fruit morphology and anatomy of several tropical fruit species and cultivation practices of several fruit plants.
