Deskripsi Singkat Mata Kuliah

This course aims to deepen students‘ understanding and enjoyment of prose literature through the study of short stories, novels, and essays from diverse cultural contexts (including western society and culture), with a particular focus on issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as quality education (SDG 4), gender equality (SDG 5), and reduced inequalities (SDG 10). The scope includes thematic exploration, close reading, and analysis of literary elements such as character, plot, and style. The teaching approach combines interactive lectures, group discussions, and individual presentations to foster critical thinking and articulate expression. Assessment procedures include analytical essays, creative projects, reflective reports, and writing assessments, along with mid-term and final exams. Through these methods, students will develop their analytical skills, enhance their writing, and gain a greater appreciation for the richness and diversity of prose literature, while understanding its connection to global issues addressed by the SDGs.
